Your Board

Your board can be one of two shapes concave or convex. The convex board or as Burton calls it the “rocker” is made for powder snow and grinds, because of its shape it lets you apply a greater amount of pressure in the middle without it snapping. As for the concave boards it’s more of a beginner board because the stance it applies more pressure to where your feet are at so it’s much easier to make your turns and it will correct your mistakes much more then a convex board would. Also with a convex board it’s going to let you have a greater sense of control because you have a smaller surface that’s up on the snow so you can improve speed as well as control. Also it is a much greater design for powder snow because the tips are raised up out of the snow so you will float on top of the snow so you’re no pushing all the snow with your legs, giving you more speed and better control. If you are a beginner you are going to want to buy a concave board and if your intermediate rider or professional your going to want a convex board.
