Different Kinds of Snowboarding.

There is several different kinds of snowboarding, such as; free riding, trick riding, rail jamming and aggressive downhill. The differences are rather large, free riding is when you just enjoy the day out on the slopes, normally it’s when you glide your way down the hill making larger turns which means you’re moving at a slower rate of speed. Compared with aggressive downhill, which is when you “bomb” the hill meaning you do next to no turns meaning you are cruising at a very quick speed. The difference with rail jamming and trick riding is slim to none, but when you are rail jamming you’re focused more on hitting the grind posts, table tops and double boxes. Compared to if you were just trick riding, that’s when you are hitting the jumps, and going for massive air or clearance. When you are going for air its more of a longer ramp and less of a lip, compared to when you are clearing an obstacle. The ramp is much shorter and at a much higher angle for that extra push so you don’t hit the obstacle you are trying to clear. That’s just about all the different kind of snowboarding there is.

  1. Hey T-Roy :)
I have to say I never knew there are so many different kinds of snowboarding. I've snowboarded before, and I thought that it was amazing, but I didn't think that there were different ways of doing it. That's really interesting :) The next time I go I'm gonna try and do a different style :)
Thanks for the heads up :)
