Different Olympic Riding

The giant slalom is similar to a downhill race. There are gates set up along the hill. The object of the race is to go as fast as you can around the gates as you go downhill. Each snowboarder has two tries to get the fastest time. If you miss a gate you are disqualified. Whoever has the best time wins. The type of snowboard that is used is narrow and stiff. As to when you are doing trick riding and rail jamming, your board is wider and more flexible for when you are up on the grind your board is more flexible so it is a smother ride. Also it’s more forgiving if you were to catch an edge your board will flex and help you get back on track. There is another form of Olympic snowboarding called boarder-cross. Its when there is a race coarse when the riders have to follow, but the start at the gate and when it drop the push themselves out and begin the race. They are allowed to push and rough it up with one another while racing. They reach speed up to 60 mph, and have 6 competitors and race for up to 2 minutes.
